This is a good everyday morning coffee that you don't need to think too much about. It has nice chocolatey notes with hazelnut and citrus flavours towards the end. It will help you get up in the dark winter mornings.
This coffee is produced by the Flor de Dalia cooperative, founded in 2004 in the Matagalpa region. It gathers 313 coffee producers, of which 56 are organic coffee producers. This cooperative has been certified organic and Fair Trade since 2006. It works within the framework of the Blue Harvest approach, which focuses on the conservation of water resources by reducing water consumption and treating coffee by-products. Growers are constantly trained in the management of harvest by-products, as well as in the protection of water sources.
The total area of the organic coffee producers' plantations covers 86.44 hectares near the Tuma-La Dalia area. The coffee trees grow in an agroforestry system, cultivated in the shade between 1200 and 1500 meters above sea level.
La Dalia is one of the main coffee-producing municipalities in the department of Matagalpa, where approximately 50% of the department's production comes from, as coffee growing is the main economic element of the municipality, the producers and their families. This coffee is a varietal blend.
